Panasonic HDC-TM10K Hard Drive Full HD Camcorder (Black)

I've only had my HDC-TM10K for a couple of days, but so far I'm very impressed. It's amazingly small and lightweight. Ease of use is great. I was also able to edit HD video on my MacBook--you must have Intel processor, and iMovie 09. I was also able to burn an HD DVD with no problem. So far, I'm very happy with it.Buy Panasonic HDC TM10K Lowest Price, Order Now! [Click Here!]

Cheap Panasonic HDC-SD10K SD Full HD Camcorder - Black

I have this camcorder for about a year and still happy with it. I have a HD TV, so HD camcorder is only way to go. I was disappoint with other than is not full HD.

Price:
I just see the Amazon price for this camcorder go under 300, not sure if this is the new price or just temporary sale. Compare to other name brands, this is a very good price. I pay about 400 a year ago.

Storage:
I have the kingston SD (kingston provides lifttime warranty on the card), I have no problem with it. In fact, SD camcorder is smaller and ligher then hard disk verson. I have the 16 GB, I hardly ever use all the storage in a single day.

Cons:
Yes, low light is a issue. If you are shoot outdoor in the evening, there will be an issue. But most of my evening shoot is going to be indoor, so I am okay with it.

Kodak Zi6

Kodak Zi6 HD Pocket Video Camera

I bought my Zi6 at Target back in June just before deploying to Iraq. Think I paid $149.00 and had to add a memory card. Mine works great, I have some great footage of patrols, Iraqi Kids getting toys, the land scape moving down the road, and a few shots going thru Mosul at night. I filmed most of it looking thru the glass of an armored vehicle. It also takes fairly good still pictures. Easy to carry and holds-up good, I have dropped my several times and it is still going strong. I do recommend buying 2 extra rechargeable batteries and swapping them out. I have 2GB card in mine and can get a few pictures and about 45 minutes of video. Buy Kodak Zi6 Lowest Price, Order Now! [Click Here!]

Cheap Sony DCR-SR47 Hard Disk Drive Handycam® Camcorder (Silver)

I have little experience with Camcorders. I found the Handycam easy to use. I bought the Handycam to video tape my home inventory for insurance in case we have another hurricane. I would have given the Handycam review 5 stars, but the audio volume playback using the camera is not very loud. I have increased it to the top level with options, but it is not acceptable. It will be a chore to inventory and try to talk at the same time. I may have to use a tape recorder with the video for inventory purposes. Any other ideas? Please let me know. I called Sony support and was told I had increased the volume as much as it can be increased. The play back through the TV is great. I am looking forward to learning some of the more complex video options. Wish they had a video tutorial for those of us that are challenged electonically.

Buying Sony DCR-SX40 Palm-Sized Camcorder With 60X Optical Zoom (Silver)

The thing that got my attention with this cam was the 60X Optical 2000 Digital Zoom.
I checked it out at the store which had it powered up and knew this was the cam for me, but the real test cooled that inspiration.
To the point.. the Zoom was a major let down. Zoom in on something close and it turns to a blur and the same for distant objects. Now that I think of it I haven't seen the mega pixel rating but it isn't very high.
Not for smaller hands even though this is a very small cam. The touch screen is very nice with very few buttons to get use to. One cool button is marked "EASY". When you open the screen the cam turns on.
and you'll see 5 buttons on the cam case. Push "EASY" and you are ready to record. You can take Videos and stills with ease.
Setting the cam to your computer with easy to follow instruction except that the cam displays "Don't turn off the power, Don't unplug from computer plus one other message" At the end of the install it asks you to restart your computer. When the computer comes back on the message is still on the camera screen leaving you to wonder if you'll damage the camera if you do unplug it. I just unplugged it and all was fine.
The Picture Motion Browser software is stable on my Win XP Pro but not many features for video and still editing. Simple is Better maybe. Videos are Mpeg2 and Pics are Jpg

The last impressive thing is the ability to burn a DVD in the field with a special burner that gets its power from the cam. There are 2 different models I think.

I Rated this as a 3 because of the zoom clarity.

Sony HDR-CX100 AVCHD HD Camcorder With Smile Shutter & 10x Optical Zoom (Silver)

Love the camera with the exception of 2 things.

Lower lighting creates a very poor resolutions - looks grainy.
Outdoor lighting gets the full HD effect and looks GREAT!
Suggest using artificial lighting for indoor shots.

No External Microphone input. I use a wireless microphone for interviews and web videos. This camera does not support it but i plan to install a input jack to the current mic connection (Voids warranty and do not recommend)

Battery life is great, Bought a 32GB memory card and has been able to hold everything I am shooting to date! Buy Sony HDR CX100 Lowest Price, Order Now! [Click Here!]

Canon VIXIA HF S11 HD Dual Flash Memory Camcorder With 10x Optical Zoom

So i can record 6 hours of hd with the built in 64 gigs. But wait..........the battery only last 93 minutes. That sucks and I would have bought the cheaper version. 93 minutes means I cant record 6 hours unless I buy more batteries which is stupid.

Canon VIXIA HV40 HD HDV Camcorder With 10x Optical Zoom

The image quality is outstanding for a novice style camera and user. The features are easy to use and intuitive. The battery that comes with the camera is pretty much a joke as far a recording time. Buy yourself the best battery you can afford.

Canon VIXIA HF S10 HD Dual Flash Memory With 32 GB Internal Memory And 10x Optical Zoom

The videos you shoot are simply awesome. I played video from the camera to a Phillips 42" 1080P LCD TV and picture is unbelievable. Very crisp, clear and bright colors. It is equal to or possibly a bit better than HD programming over the air. The pictures shot in the still mode are also very good and I was impressed. Pictures do look like they were shot from a nice digital camera and not from a video camera. Now pictures shot while recording video, have a bit more noise and not as crisp, but are still good. The flash memory is great. Instant access, no moving parts, which should allow this camera to be trouble-free for many years. Hey, it's a Canon!A nice feature is that it has a built-in 1.7X digital tele-converter which does not affect video quality. With the small optical zoom of 10X, the digital tele-converter does give the zooom a little more oomph.OK, you know it had to come....here are the bad points I found. Besides for battery life, all are very minor:The manual is big and bulky. If you must include other languages besides English, that's fine if you need to. But do it with different manuals. To include 3 languages in one book, makes for a quite a thick and cumberson manual for no real reason. The controls are a bit of a challenge to master for me and the menu takes a little getting used to, but this camera has many capabilities and some nice manual features. The 10x zoom is a bit small in my opinion, but the tele-converter helps offset this a little. The worst thing about this camera and what others are also saying, is the mediocre battery life. Expect to pay for another battery, probably one with at least double the juice of the one that is packaged with this camera. Remember, the format is AVCHD and software that can use this format is still limited, but there are more coming out all the time. Expect to pay another $100 or so for these although Amazon has some great deals if you keep watch. The software included with the HF S10 works, but it's nothing real special. Also, make sure your computer requirements are above the minimum for trouble free viewing/editing. I built my computer with an Intel Quad Core 9650, 8GB 1066mhz RAM and a GTX 260 PCI-E Video card with 896MB RAM and I have absolutely no problem of a slowdown or anything else. Also make sure you have plenty of Hard Drive space as AVCHD uses alot of space. As far as SDHC card, I would advise class 6 or higher. Class 4 will work, but longer write/read times. I learned the hard that not all memory card readers will read SDHC or possibly not over an 8gb card even though you may have an SD slot and it will read other SD cards. Overall, this is an awesome camera and I have only had it a few days and maybe once I learn the features and how to have it sip the battery life (if it can), I will like it that much better. If you are looking for a great HD Video camera that has a great picture and sound, you need not look further. I have read the reviews of many different cameras and played with a few and have no regrets in getting this one.ADDITIONAL: I have now had this camera for awhile and the only changes I'd make to my above statement is that battery life is better now that I concentrate on shooting photos only or video only. I was earlier shooting both videos and photos, switching back and forth as well as playing back what was shot. This used the battery up quite quickly. In concentrating in shooting only and not as much playback, battery life is much better. Also, I highly recommend buying the the next size up battery pack (BP-819) as it seems to last twice as long and Amazon has the best deal on it hands down.Buy Canon VIXIA HF S10 Lowest Price, Order Now! Canon VIXIA HF S100 HD Flash Memory Camcorder With 10x Optical Zoom

I have shot with all types of cameras for many years, my last camera was a Sony FX1. This camera out performs the Sony, the images are beautiful. AVCHD has been a bear to figure out but I found a workable option using FCP. look up finalcutprotips for the work flow tip. I was going to give the camera 4 stars but I realized this camera is a consumer grade camera shooting better than most pro grade cameras so I really can't knock some of it's short comings, such as the mini shoe connection which I had to buy an adapter for, stupid idea, manual focus is not that easy to work with, which will be up to me to get a handle on and no native 24p but It has a great feature set that is so easy to work with that I have to give it 5 stars.

Canon VIXIA HF S11

Canon VIXIA HF S11 HD Dual Flash Memory Camcorder With 10x Optical Zoom

I've been in the market for a very good Camcorder and I am pretty serious about this one. However, the hinge needs to be a little stronger in my opinion since pushing the Wide/Tight Zoom feature may cause the camera itself to move when on a tripod. With this price a better battery and charger should be included. Also, I saw a remote function you can place on the tripod but very little is written as to how it works.

Canon VIXIA HF200 HD Flash Memory Camcorder With 15x Optical Zoom

Overall I like this camera and would recommend its purchase if you only shoot in well lit areas. Indoor photography without either a high-quality video light or good light conditions will result in grain results.Outdoors, even on cloudy days, it compares well with the Sony HDR-XR500V I've used. Although half the price of the Sony model HF200 gives great visual captures, even better when used with a tripod. Sony XR500 seemed to produce a more stable picture when hand-held, but the video is still feasible for private use with Canon. I have not experimented with editing video using a quality video package yet (in an attempt to reduce video shake), but probably would help. The HF200 has a small video light shoe on top, it is not a standard size. The size and weight of the HF200 is very good, although the wrist strap would be a bit tight for a larger male hands. Adjusting this strap properly really reduced video shake. The HF200 comes with no storage. You have to use a SD-HC cards. Anything "Class 4" or greater speed rating is functioning well. My 16 GB Class 4 Sandisk card work well, without loss of data entered in the highest quality and resolution.I not have bought this camcorder through here, but I used a local warehouse "club", when the price was comparable, and I could use it without returning inconvenience locally. At half the price of the Sony I will keep this. I would recommend checking both out and make a call based on the number of times you want to record inside.Hope this helps

Canon VIXIA HF20 HD Dual Flash Memory

Canon VIXIA HF20 HD Dual Flash Memory With 32 GB Internal Memory And 15x Optical Zoom

Compact and lightweight.. excellent feature set.. I do not miss the view finder. Once you get used to the controls and follow along in the manual for a few minutes you get the interface. Everything defaults to automatic but you can adjust focus, mic levels, aperture and shutter speed in a couple clicks of the thumbstick. Picture quality is great, of course, even at non HD quality. I didn't install the bundled software - there is free video editing software from Microsoft called Live Movie Maker that works perfect for PCs and can automatically upload to YouTube. For bigger jobs I got Sony Vegas 9 - I tried them both out and they work fine. I can see battery life being a problem but I haven't been too far from an outlet for it to totally run out. I did run out of internal memory but syncing to the PC is easy. I love the internal memory and I like not having a hard drive in there. Very happy with the decision to go with the HF20.

Canon FS200 Flash Memory Camcorder With 37x Optical Zoom (Misty Silver)

I researched this camera before I bought it. It has not all the bells and whistles, but who really uses all the extra stuff. It met all my expectations. Very good optical zoom, and easy to use. It is excellent SD video, lots of record with an 8 or 16 gig cards. (I have 2 Trandscend 16 gig cards.) Battery life is ok, I can recommend a second battery because this camera will not support the extended life batteries. You can download video to your computer for processing with Canon supplied software via USB port. USB transfer is not as fast as fire wire, but you can start the download and go away, or has another task on your computer. I have also tried with success to transfer files using a 3rd Party SDHC card reader. The disadvantage of using a card reader, you do not have the conveniences filesystem that Canon SW states. Canon SW is not good to make one last movie. I recommend Corel VideoStudio Pro. I like this camera so much, I am convinced that 2 others to buy one. It is a great value.

Canon VIXIA HG21 AVCHD 120 GB HDD Camcorder With 12x Optical Zoom

I bought this camcorder (120 GB) about three weeks ago and love it. I have shot several night football games and some indoor volleyball game. All my videos were fantastic! I think the battery life is 'OK'. On a full charge it shows about 1 1 / 2 hours (plus or minus). I bought one extra just to make sure. I would also buy Canon DW-100 to burn discs, so I do not have to save everything on my laptop (just in case something happens to your computer). If you have a hi-def TV, I would highly recommend this.
